ABOUT GINA MALDONADO

I'm an artist, designer, and illustrator specialised in painting colourful flora and fauna for home decor, publishing and packaging.

My hand-painted designs are inspired by the natural world, my passion for flora and fauna, and my love of colour. My art is infused with a sense of joy, wonder, and connection to nature.

Whether it's walking in the park, travelling around the world, or looking at wildlife photography, my art is a reflection of the beauty and inspiration I find in the world around me. I enjoy the physicality of painting and the feeling of creating something with my own hands.

With a background in interior design, I have extensive knowledge of design and colour theory. My bachelor degree was in Architecture which I studied in Colombia and Mexico. Afterwards I pursued a Masters degree in Interior Design in Milan, Italy.

Prior to working as an artist, I worked in interior design studios both in Italy and Hong Kong, designing interiors for private residences, restaurants, retail and events. 

Originally from Colombia, I now live in Hong Kong where I enjoy buying plants and flowers for my home, to bring nature indoors as well as to use for drawing reference for my art. I’m a wildlife enthusiast who loves travelling around the world and seeing animals in their natural habitat.
